Port Ogden & Northern US3B3

History:

The Port Ogden & Northern Railroad was trackplan number 8 in "101 Trackplans
for model Railroaders", Kalmbach Publishing, designed by Lin Westcott. The
area from Port Ogden to Johansburg and Saint Marys was all there was, it was
originally designed as a 16 foot by 1 foot bookshelf layout in HO scale.
There was no continous running, it was designed as a switching (shunting)
route. When Microsoft Train Simulator came out in 2001, I created the PO&N
for MSTS from the trackplan, then quickly realized that virtual railroading
was a model railroader's dream since there was no need to knock down walls
to expand the layout beyond the original boundaries. Eleven versions over
six years, PO&N for MSTS grew to a huge freight route, and my eventual goal
is to recreate something even better for Railsim.

This second version for Railsim includes the original Lin Westcott PO&N plus
a bunch of experimental additions, some of which will probably make it into
the later versions. An interactive coal filler has been added outside the
beginnings of the coal mine, and there's an unloader in the oldest section
by the churches. The line from Saint Marys has been extended to a new yard
and logging area.
